TEMA AEL Type STHE in Aspen EDR

Introduction

Many commercial software are present which allows engineers to design objects by following code and standards. One such piece of software is Aspen One Exchanger Design and Rating, in which is primarily focused on designing TEMA standard Heat exchangers.

AEL defines the type of Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger (STHE) used in the analysis. Here it means:

Conclusion

Although there are general purpose softwares for solving the numerical analysis of simple problems, for more specific studies, a dedicated software is always better than a general one, say ANSYS.
